I’m Dr. Rehana! I am a Psychologist at Connect Psychology.
I was born in Canada and completed my higher education in the USA. I worked with individuals, couples and organizations for over a decade before relocating to Dubai, where I now work with individuals navigating some of life’s most complex challenges.
My background spans clinical psychology, organizational psychology, and neuroscience, which means I bring a rare depth to the work: I understand not just what you’re experiencing, but why, and what your brain and nervous system are doing underneath it.
What will it be like when I first meet you?
I know that reaching out for support takes courage, and I don’t take that lightly. From our very first session, my goal is to make you feel genuinely heard rather than assessed or rushed. I work collaboratively, and I will always take the time to understand your full picture: your history, your relationships, your context, and what you actually want to be different.
I bring both clinical rigor and real warmth to the work. You will not be handed a formula. You will get a thoughtful, individualized approach that respects your intelligence and meets you where you are.
What therapies do you use and what kind of difficulties do you help people with?
I work with a wide range of challenges, including:
- Trauma and PTSD, including complex and developmental trauma
- Recovery from narcissistic or emotionally abusive relationships
- Anxiety and depression
- Burnout and stress, particularly in high-achieving professionals
- Relationship difficulties in couples
- ADHD and executive functioning challenges
- Life transitions, especially for expats navigating a new country
- Grief and loss
I draw on whichever approaches best fit the person in front of me, including EMDR, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), somatic and attachment-based therapies, and neuroscience-informed approaches.
What are your interests outside of psychology?
I am a mother first, and so much of my life outside the clinic revolves around my son and the adventures we get into together. I love exploring Dubai, staying active, and finding the best spots the city has to offer.
