I’m Lucy! I am a Cognitive Behavioural Hypnotherapist at Connect Psychology.

I’m from Ireland and have been living in Dubai for over 10 years. I first worked as an ABA therapist with children and young people, and later trained and worked as a psychotherapist. I also spent several years in a corporate role here in Dubai, which gave me a clear understanding of how work and daily pressure can affect wellbeing.

I went on to train as a Cognitive Behavioural Hypnotherapist after seeing how helpful hypnosis can be in supporting people to shift patterns that feel stuck.

What will it be like when I first meet you?

Our first session is a chance to get to know you. We will talk about what you are finding challenging, how it affects you day to day, and what outcomes you would like to achieve. My aim is for the session to feel welcoming, safe and hopeful.

I want you to feel heard and supported, while also gaining simple, manageable steps to move forward.

What kind of therapies do you use and what kind of difficulties do you help people with?

I use cognitive behavioural therapy alongside hypnosis. Hypnotherapy is a collaborative process where we look at the thoughts, physical reactions and habits that may be keeping certain patterns going. I’ll then guide you to use your imagination in a focused way to explore new emotional responses and to practice different behaviours.

I commonly support people with:

  • Phobias
  • Smoking and vaping cessation
  • Habit change (such as nail biting or hair pulling)
  • Anxiety and stress
  • Low confidence or self-criticism

What are your interests outside of clinical hypnotherapy?

I enjoy spending time with family and friends, and our adored dog Tippa. I also like to play padel, keep active, travel and read.
